Week 13: "Failure Is a Stepping Stone to Success"

Well, this week was rough...but we all know that this is not a rare occurrence. A lost by 59 points (102-161) and N lost by 63 (73-136) to their respective opponents. Additionally, the Eagles and Broncos lost. Overall, a brutal week.

A - Did I lose by 59 points? Yes. Did I at least make it to triple digits in points? Also yes (couldn't be N). However, I was playing the third-best team in the league, led by CJ Stroud, Ja'Marr Chase, and Puka Nacua. I was also playing without some of my usuals, like Josh Jacobs, Gabe Davis, and Dalton Schutz.

N - I had a really rough week, losing by too many points to count to my cousin. I lost multiple players to injury mid-game, headlined by Tank Dell exiting his game against the Broncos early. An overall pitiful week from my squad, who had absolutely no match for Sam LaPorta's 29 points.

A - My MVP this week was Brock Purdy. He scored 37 points, his best of the season, with 4 touchdowns and 314 yards. While I appreciated this boost to my team, it was unfortunate that Purdy had the game of his life this week for two reasons. One, he played great during a week in which all my other players did horribly, so it feels like a waste. Two, it was against the Eagles, who experienced their second loss of the season. It was impressive how Purdy made the Eagle's defense look nonexistent, even if it hurt a little. And on top of all of this, Roger Goodell wants to ban the 'Brotherly Shove'.

N - My MVP this week was the New York Jets defense. They got a safety and held the Falcons to 13 points, scoring 24 fantasy points. This ended up being my highest scoring player by 11, which is terrible considering my opponent had multiple players within that range. Amon-Ra St. Brown disappointed this week, only catching 2 passes and disrupting his consistent streak.

A - I am facing off against my aunt next week. She is 5-5-1 and coming off a loss where her team scored 153 points. She has Deebo Samuel, Jaylen Waddle, and Tyreek Hill. The Waddle-Hill combination was killer the last time I faced her. However, her quarterback, Derek Carr, is currently questionable with a possible concussion and rib injury. It will be an interesting matchup.

N - Next week I face my cousin in the battle of next-to-last place, as we are both 4-8. I need St. Brown to return to his usual self if I want to compete with his receivers, DK Metcalf and Brandon Aiyuk. I feel confident I can pull off a win, as I have multiple players coming off bye weeks rested and ready to perform for my fantasy team.

As our title articulates, A and N are simply on the road to success. Next season we will be #1 and #2, with A obviously at the top. We will be back next week to discuss our penultimate matchups of the season!
