Week 12: L's for Thanksgiving

It was Thanksgiving this week, and similar to Jack Harlow's halftime show, N and A both had pitiful showings.

N - After a close matchup with my uncle, my team has fallen to 4-7, almost eliminating my playoff hopes. His 20 points from his defense and 21 from Nico Collins were able to power him to a victory. Along with this, his team scored 5 touchdowns to my 1. I knew my week was doomed as soon as my kicker, Justin Tucker, missed an easy field goal that he usually drills without looking.

A - I lost to my grandpa this week after being projected to win yet again. I am now 2-9, which is a little rough. However, my team only scored 129, which is not a lot when your opponent has Josh Allen scoring 44 points in his overtime loss against the Eagles (Go Birds). It also doesn't help when Dalton Schultz only gets one singular point. At least I made the right decision to play Lamar Jackson (16 points) over Brock Purdy (12 points) and the Bengals D/ST (12 points) over the Commanders D/ST (-7 points). A win this week would have been hard to come by.

N - My MVP this week was Amon-Ra St. Brown, who once again had a great week. He overcame his bad first half to end up with 9 catches for almost 100 yards. His performances this year have been extremely consistent, which the rest of my team hasn't been.

A - Josh Jacobs of the Raiders played an incredible game against the Chiefs, with 110 yards and a touchdown. He scored 25 points, securing MVP this week. Both Keenan Allen and Gabe Davis scored 22 this week, earning honorable mentions. Allen has become very consistent and entertaining to watch this season, and he will be on my radar for the draft next year.

N - Next week, I play my 7-4 cousin who started 7-0 and has lost 4 straight games. I'm hoping I can take advantage of his losing streak and start a winning streak of my own. I have some byes to deal with, but hopefully St. Brown can power me to another win.

A - I play my cousin next, who is 8-3 with CJ Stroud leading the way. AJ Brown of the Eagles (Go Birds) and Kyren Williams of the Rams are also major players on her team. Lamar Jackson, Gabe Davis, and Josh Jacobs all have byes next week, so it is not looking great for me.

Thanks for reading and come back next week to witness an N win! And Go Birds!
