Week 7: Devastation Once Again

A and N have once again lost their Fantasy games this week. Despite some of our players having their best games of the season, we watched our opponents slowly beat us. This brings A to 1-5, and N to 2-5.

A - Lamar Jackson scored 40 points (40 WHOLE POINTS), Travis Kelce scored 35, my Commanders' Defense scored 20 points, and I still lost to my cousin. It is difficult to even pay attention anymore, as my playoff chances are not far from over and my team underperforms every week. To be fair, most of my starters had bye weeks, but even the consistent Keenan Allen did not score his typical 15+ points. Overall, it was not my week (again).

N - This loss really hurts, as I lost by a singular point against my cousin's now 6-0 team. I had great performances from everybody but my quarterback, Deshaun Watson. His -2 points is a good representation of how my season's going. If I didn't play him at all, I would've won this week's matchup. My opponent's QB outscoring mine by 44 is pretty much the only reason I lost this week. I am 3rd in points scored this year, with 835, yet I still find myself with a 2-5 record.

A - MVP this week was obviously Lamar Jackson. After an up-and-down season, he managed 40 points against Detroit, with 3 touchdowns, 357 passing yards, and a 77.8% completion rate. An honorable mention is Travis Kelce, with 35 points. Taylor Swift was once again in the stands for him (adorable). My defense also did well. I picked up the Commanders Defense this week, and they scored 20 points against the Giants. As well as these three played, they made up 75% of my overall points scored, meaning my 6 other players did just about nothing.

N - My MVP was Jahmyr Gibbs, who finally had a breakout game due to David Montgomery's injury. The lions may have been blown out, but their stars gave me some pretty good fantasy performances. My kicker even had a great game, hitting 3 field goals including the game winner. However, Deshaun Watson's abysmal performance overrode these.

A - Next week I am playing my 2-4 aunt. I don't want to get my hopes up, but maybe this will be a good matchup. Fingers crossed!

N - I play my 3-3 cousin next week, who I am projected to beat by 20 points. My team leads the league in projected points next week, so I better win.

After a devastating week (season, really), it might be time to sit back and enjoy football for what it is: a silly sport that Taylor Swift's boyfriend plays. We'll be back next week!
