Week 5 Results: Victories!!

For the first time ever, both N and A were victorious this week: N winning 150-102 and A 131-93. Both matchups were exciting, with N's DJ Moore scoring a whopping 50 points. Things are looking up for both of us!

A - I would like to thank my parents, my dog, my friends, and my thermodynamics professor who gave me time to write this during class. It is such an honor to accept this victory. All jokes aside, I am thrilled about the win and I am feeling positive about the rest of the season. Travis Kelce finally had a good game, scoring 22 points on a sprained ankle. The competition between Lamar Jackson and Brock Purdy continues, as Jackson scored 9 points and Purdy (on my bench) scored 34 this week. I tend to choose the wrong one each week, so my strategy clearly needs to change. James Conner, Tank Dell, and Kelce all got injured during their games, so my team is not currently at its strongest. Hopefully next weekend they will all be doing better.

N - My team came in with a whopping 150 points, breaking my record for most points this year. I had an all-around solid performance from my squad, apart from Anthony Richardson's injury and Brandin Cooks' 1 point stinker. I was without St. Brown and Ekeler, my two first round picks, so this is a huge win for the team with them hopefully returning next week. My opponent's Joe Burrow wasn't enough to get him the win, even though he threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns.

A - While Gabe Davis and Travis Kelce both scored 22 points this week, I have to give my MVP award to my defense. I recently picked up the Bengals' defense, and they showed their strength this weekend. During a great game against Arizona, the Bengals had a touchdown, two interceptions, 3 sacks, and a recovered fumble. In all, they scored 31 points, helping my team secure the win.

N - As I watched the Thursday Night Football game last week, I kept thinking to myself that DJ Moore was having a fantastic game. I never even thought about Fantasy until I checked my lineup later that night and saw that he had 50 points! He is undoubtedly my MVP this week, completely putting the team on his back.

A - Next week, I am facing my grandpa. He and I have one win each, putting both of us at the bottom of the standings. His team features Josh Allen and Isiah Pacheco. In other words, it is going to be an interesting matchup.

N - I face my 2-2 uncle next week, who's team is headlined by Stefon Diggs and Justin Herbert. With Ekeler and St. Brown hopefully returning next week, I can try to start a win streak.

A - I do have a quick question for N: are the Eagles (go birds) going to the Super Bowl? Their 5-0 season thus far appears promising, but I have heard mixed reviews on their talent and schedule difficulty.

N - Although their start does seem promising, they've struggled against some bad teams and barely came out of a few games in which they should've won by 30. If it comes down to it, the 49ers could easily hand the Eagles a blowout loss in the playoffs. San Francisco is looking like the team to beat, which would prevent the Eagles from making it to the Superbowl from the NFC.

Stay tuned for next week's blog!
