A's Winning Draft
The long-awaited, highly-anticipated moment has arrived: the Fantasy Draft itself. While I enjoy watching football and participating in Fantasy, I will admit I do not know much about the athletes. Below is my drafted team, and I will do my best to justify each choice.
QB: Lamar Jackson
RB: Josh Jacobs
RB: James Conner
WR: Keenan Allen
WR: Diontae Johnson
WR/TE: Travis Kelce
FLEX: Kyle Pitts
D/ST: Jets
K: Evan McPherson
My first pick was Travis Kelce. Not only is he consistent in every game, but with Patrick Mahomes and no significant WRs around him, I know he will thrive. Kelce was a key part of my team last year, even helping me crush my uncle in an insane 33-point game. He has my ultimate respect and loyalty.
Josh Jacobs was next. I had not heard of him until the draft, but after some research, he seems like a great choice. Despite having a rough first few seasons, he did incredible last year, averaging 19.3 points per game and ranking 3 in RBs. I am excited to see how he does this year.
My next pick was QB. I was hoping that Jalen Hurts would still be available, but my dad stole him before I could. So I chose Lamar Jackson. With the addition of Odell Beckham Jr. to an already good Ravens' offense, I know Jackson will be able to rack up some serious points.
After these 3 picks, the rest were based on availability, bye weeks, and injuries. I have full faith in my team. Kyle Pitts and Keenan Allen, despite the injuries last year, will be back with a vengeance this year. Evan McPherson, my kicker from last year, is consistent and accurate. The Jets' defense, featuring star cornerback Sauce Gardner, is more than ready for a solid season. And Aaron Rodgers, who secured a solid spot on my bench, will be fun to watch as he joins the Jets.
My first match-up is against my cousin's team (starring Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb, and Joe Mixon). I am excited to beat him in the first of my many wins.
